Moar Art!

Well, there’s somethings that has happened, and something which is yet to happen.

Firstly, today I took some photos… and they turned out good! It all stemmed from physics class where we’ve been studying optics. As photographer, this was incredibly interesting to me. Anyway, one of the best things we did was get a lens, point it at the window with some paper behind it, and you could see an image of the window on the paper. Essentially, the entire classroom had been turned into a camera, just without the capturing part.

Well this idea stuck with me, and today I got out an old lens from a magnifying glass, and tried the same. Quite the successful too.

So, with my brothers help, we managed to play around with some pretty cool arrangements of light. Check it out.

As for the other bit of news, tomorrow I shall be waking up early, grabbing my camera, boarding a bus and traveling all the way to Canberra for an excursion to the National Art Gallery. At the moment, if you didn’t already know, there is a major exhibit of Post Impressionism art. So that’s like Van Gogh, Cezanne ad stuff. Some pretty well known names there.

Now all these amazing artworks are here in dusty old Australia because some big gallery in France is closed for upgrades or something, and they understand the idea of sharing is caring! So my school jumped at the chance to go see these amazing works so close to home, and organised an excursion.

Personally, I’m not quite sure what I’m more excited about, the Renaissance period art, or the fact my camera’s coming too. But either way, I know tomorrows gonna be awesome.

As for the photo’s I took, below are some pictures from the setup I had.
